Brownstones and townhouses are our home ground. We open up what needs opening, keep what’s worth keeping, and bring the plumbing, wiring and heating up to date, treating the stair, moldings and mantels with care.
What we do
- Gut renovations
- Down to the studs and back, with new systems throughout.
- Original details
- Stairs, plaster moldings, mantels and floors restored wherever they can be saved.
- Kitchens and baths
- Layout, cabinetry, tile and fixtures, coordinated as one job.
- Heating, cooling and wiring
- Heat pumps, lighting control and networking planned with the walls open.
- Roof decks, backyards and facades
- Decks, brick, stairs, fencing, roofing and facade work.
- Punch lists and repairs
- Small jobs too. We’re happy to come in and finish a list.
Good to know
Does a brownstone renovation need permits?
Most work that changes plumbing, wiring, layout or structure needs Department of Buildings permits. We file and manage them under our own license.
Can you keep the original details?
Yes. We restore stairs, moldings, mantels and floors wherever they can be saved, and tell you honestly when they can’t.
